I thought I kept up with the news but sadly I missed this come out in the US last December now it applies to me next month June 1st.
They can choose to make money from my work before I qualify to get a cut from their advertising. If I decided I didn't want to monetise work and save the viewer the adverts, I cannot control that if the time came. That's quite a shift in a relationship. What was mutually beneficial arrangement has now moved to potential arbitrary decisions by one side of the agreement. I only get to vote with my feet.
I now potentially have to view YT as solely providing promotion for my work. Each video takes approximately one day to edit. That's quite a price to be making money for someone else and I might only get some exposure not any revenue down the line if I were actually a success. That's a deal I may decide to accept but it's a ground shift.
Anyway I'm grateful for what I have achieved so far. It has been rewarding and educational for me.
The Adventure Overland Show at Stratford-upon-Avon late summer edition 2023.
My final day in the Elan Valley Area. I think I should check out the Strata Florida Road to see if I could attempt it sometime. Could have been a lot worse day I suppose....
I find a screw in my tyre, get a bit surprised and jump with both feet into a patch of mud.
I moved parking spot last night and now I'm exploring the Western part of the area. My cross country meander is interrupted with a gyrocopter.

Just about to leave to go on a trip and I spotted the indicator had fallen apart finally. Just a quick fix - well the video is quick, the removal was slow and tedious from years of rust on all the cover bolts.
Little trick to splice back into the trailer socket wiring.
